— Product Overview

Description

KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) corresponding to the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Unlike its parent hormone, it does not activate melanocortin receptors — so it carries none of α-MSH's pigmentation or appetite activity — while retaining the anti-inflammatory profile that has made it a research focus.

In published cell and animal studies, KPV has been investigated for its modulation of NF-κB signaling and pro-inflammatory cytokine production (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β), with particular interest in gut-inflammation, wound-healing, and dermatological models. Its small, stable structure has also drawn attention for its uptake characteristics in epithelial and mucosal-barrier research.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is KPV?
KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) corresponding to the C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, studied for anti-inflammatory activity independent of melanocortin receptors.
What is KPV studied for in research?
In cell and animal models it has been investigated for NF-κB pathway modulation and reduced pro-inflammatory cytokine production (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β), with focus on gut, skin, and wound-healing models.
How is KPV different from alpha-MSH?
KPV is the minimal C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH. It retains the anti-inflammatory profile but does not activate melanocortin receptors, so it lacks the pigmentation and appetite effects of the full hormone.
How is KPV supplied?
As a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only. It is not for human consumption.
